WHERE WE ARE The Hotel Casa Convento is located in the district of Castellar de la Frontera (Cádiz), which can be reached along the Mediterranean highway A-7 (Málaga - Algeciras) turn off at the sign A-405 (Castellar - Jimena - Ronda).

Only 8 Km. from the Hotel is Castellar de la Frontera. Truly unique in its class, sorrounded by walls built in the 13th century by the Arabs. You can explore this well preserved citadel. You can walk through the maze of small houses and craft shops and visit its historic church & castle. There are spectacular views of the Guadarranque reservoir and the finest Mediterranean hillsides. A picturesque and winding road leads to Jimena de la Frontera, a nearby town, and to the mountains of the Serrania de Ronda.

A BIT OF HISTORY In 1.603, the Countess of Castellar founded this convent for the Merced Order. Two and a half centuries later the Duke of Medinaceli, holder of the title Count of Castellar, repossessed these lands and tuened the property into a hunting palace. Nowadays, "La Casa Convento" takes part of LA ASOCIACIÓN DE TURISMO SOSTENIBLE DE LOS ALCORNOCALES and belongs to La Almoraima estate. Set in an exceptional environment, it is surrounded by nature in the heart of lLOS ALCORNOCALES PARK.
